Details

Pokki 1UP was a contest to build an awesome game for Pokki. The contest ran from December 20th, 2011 to February 20th, 2012, and was open individuals or teams up to five people.

Entries were required to use open web technologies, including HTML5 and ascending technology such as Canvas, WebGL, Web Audio APIs, and WebSockets.

The judges scored all submissions based on Graphics and Audio, Gameplay, Appeal, and Polish. The top three entries won USD $30,000, $13,000 and $7,000 respectively. The People’s Choice award was given to the game with the most players by March 4th, with the winner receiving a laptop.

The winners were announced on March 6th, live at the Game Developers Conference (GDC) 2012 in San Francisco.
